DESIGNERS above The Corner Shop

Hey you guys :)

Everyone who's following me on twitter and who have read my tweets today, knew I was meeting fellow blogger Elena Vasilieva today! I went to Brussels and searched for the atelier where she and Aurore Brun make and sell their clothes. It was A-mazing! I really enjoyed talking to them and got to know them and their style better.

Elena's pieces were gorgeous but I was so curious about her winter collection, on which she's working right now, that I prefered waiting till september - october to shop! Aurore's designs were also really good and I even bought one piece as you can see above!

Of course I asked them a lot of questions, because I was so amazed and just curious to know a bit about them. For example, I asked what their favourite designers were. Although they both found it hard to answer, they gave me a few names... Elena's top 3 were Dora Abodi, Denis Simachev and Christian Siriano. Aurore's list consists of Henrik Vibskov, Hope and Wood Wood. She had another favourite, but it doesn't excist anymore: Perry, come on!

A few new names for my fashion vocabulary but that's never a bad thing, right?! Well.. I enjoyed today and I hope to see them again soon!

And as for you guys, you can also give the girls a little visit! Their atelier+shop is in Rue des Chartreux / Kartuizerstraat 48b (upstairs!) and it's called "DESIGNERS above THE CORNER SHOP", they both have a blog which you can find in my right side bar!

 Enjoy  the pictures :)

Gym

A random and quick post...

I shot this pictures before going to the gym. I wanted to wear something comfy, stylish and not too warm (because that day it was a bit hot outside, but then it started raining... go figure). I chose my most comfy short, after the levis 501, that is ;) I opted for a simple top, tucked it in the short and in stead of a blazer, I wore an oversized jeans shirt, which is vintage. And of course, my feet walked in these new sandals from Greece, but they're actually my sister's.

My sport bag is actually the one that says 'My other bags are Prada'. I think it kind of fits into the whole context. Because most people go to the gym totally normal, with loose clothes and stuff... But the bag can make your outfit a whole lot different. And my bag really does the trick!

And there I was, ready for the gym :)

The black spots are because of my mother's antique mirror.

Pura López

Hey you !

Last week, my cousin and I went shopping in Brussels and I bought an amazing pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs heels, which I'll show you in the next post! But I also discovered an amazing brand called "Pura López"...
It were the wedged boots (picture above) that caught my eye. Pure. That's how I would discribe my love for these shoes. I'd never heard of the brand before (what a shame) but now I want a pair of my own, for sure! The brand is named after the designer herself. It is said that she's raised with shoes and if I look at the designs, I can definetely see how that's true.

The shoes may have an odd shape but they're classy, chic, tough but feminine at the same time. I would like the shoes you'll see below. But I have to let you admire the most beautiful ads first!

Gamma Curta

Let's talk about art ...

Fashion is art. That's something Massimo Gamma Curta was pretty clear about when making these works! I saw some of it in the R-evolution issue of WAD and I thought it was really amazing. He plays with lots of brands and products and it's just really cool to see how he turns them into something called art! Check out my favourite pieces below and definetely check out his website because his work is amazing :)

P.S. Thanks to Lydia from Perfectly Imperfect's Beauty Blog for following :)
