It's almost christmas and the sales on Asos have started a bit already. I still had this voucher that my boyfriend gave me (together with my Triwa watch <3) for my birthday (13/02) last year. It was time to use it! Since I'm out of money I couldn't buy more than I actually wanted. But here's what's coming my way...

Het is bijna kerstmis en op Asos kun je al heel wat koopjes scoren. Metropolitan casual has arrived

 

Two weeks ago, Mexx opened a concept store in the big shopping street in Brussels. The concept of the new store was Metropolitan Casual and the new Mexx stores are designed as if you would be shopping in a NY loft. Personally, I loved it! I'm not a big Mexx fan when it comes to the clothes, but gosh... they did one hell of a job designing it. CEO, Thomas Grote says that Mexx was inspired by living in big cities and that's what clients see and feel when they enter the store. Rue Neuve/Nieuwstraat is not the only shopping area where the concept store has arrived, there are more cities to come!

Twee weken geleden opende Mexx een concept store in de winkelstraat in Brussel. Het concept was Metropolitan Casual en ze zijn zodanig ontwerpen dat het wel lijkt alsof je aan het shoppen bent in een New Yorkse loft. Ik ben fan van het concept, maar niet zozeer als het op de Mexx kledij aankomt... maar ze hebben echt wel een great job gedaan bij het ontwerpen van de winkel! De CEO, Thomas Grote zegt dat Mexx geïnspireerd is op het leven in grote steden en dat het dat is wat de klant ziet en voelt als ze bij Mexx shoppen. De Nieuwstraat is niet de enige plek waar je een concept store kan vinden, want er komen er nog vele meer!

N°1: I love belgium

I've talked about these gentlemen in the post about PURE PR. The same post in which I've mentioned they had won the Elle Style Award for Best Belgian Blog. You can guess that's why I've chosen that post to be my number 1 of November. Not only do I like their blog, I like their PR agency as well as I like them! I didn't attend the Style Awards but I was really hoping for them to win. They deserved it! The category about blogs was entirely new so that's definitely something to be proud of. Other categories such as best belgian model went to Anouck Lepère, who also deserved it (you see her everywhere these days!). Once again, I'd like to congratulate Stijn & Tom, the faces behind the blog!

N°2: You know you can't rome without Cesar

It's just keeps on going, Belgian blogs keep on amazing me! This is the story of a young man... a New York based Belgian who travels around the world to get behind the lens. Yep, a super model and a hot one too (sorry, I had to say it once and for all!). As he makes his steps into the fashion business, he makes them in style. Not only fashion wise, but the company he does it with! Taking pictures at a party, I know you guys do it too. But do those pictures have Jessica Stam, Carine Roitfeld or Lara Stone on them?  Our Ceesie's pictures do! Do you get invited to Julia Roitfeld's birthday party?** Cesar Casier does! Except for the good looks, his name has something special, don't you think? Anyways, this is sort of a tribute to the handsome one behind the lens, somewhere in the world!

N°3: Karla's Closet

Three spots of a post such as this one, can be devoted to one woman. A woman which garderobe is as big as Central Station. Not to forget about the shoes! Stylish, edgy, classic retro... high heels, flats, platforms... faux fur, leather, silk. Yes, this lady manages every kind of style. I don't know how she does it, but she does! The post which I loved the most was the one where Karla spent thanksgiving in NY. The city is much colder than where the California girl comes from, but she spent the holiday in style. What surprised me the most is the picture below. Did Karla manage to walk in those fine, but oh so gorgeous, heels on the NYC cobbles? Wauw, job well done. If it were up to me, she could change the blog to "Super Woman's Closet".

Fleet Ilya, Jeremy Scott, Opening Ceremony, Peter Pilotto, Raphael Young, Romain Brau... well I could continue my last, but I think I made it clear. Did you ever try to find these brands? Well, now you will! It's in Antwerp and it combines fashionable pieces with yummy food (well, that's what I heard) and it's called Ra. I've actually never been there myself but I browsed on their online shop and my god... I'm in love! They provide a mix of contemporary, minimalistic and fashionable garments with an edge. To be checked out, for sure!

Fleet Ilya, Jeremy Scott, Opening Ceremony, Peter Pilotto, Romain Brau... welja, ik kan uren doorgaan met het lijstje, ik denk dat je het wel begrijpt. Hebben jullie deze merken al eens proberen op te sporen? Wel, nu zal je ze zelf vinden! Het is in Antwerpen en men combineert er fashionable stukken met yummy eten (welja, dat heb ik althans gehoord) en de winkel heet Ra. Ik ben er eigenlijk nog nooit zelf geweest, maar ik heb wel even zitten browsen op hun webshop and oh my god... Ik ben verliefd! Ze hebben een mix van hedendaagse, minimalistische en modebewuste kledij met een edgy touch. To be checked out, for sure!

Travelling, we all love it and we try to do it in style. What better way to do so, than with a LV trunk? Yes, indeed, the iconic one! If you've ever visited a store, you most certainly saw one (I did in Antwerp). It's big, it's beautiful and it's a Vuitton. There's a book about the 100 most legendary ones and I got a small video for you guys!

Reizen, we doen het allen graag en we proberen het in stijl. Hoe doe je dat het best? Met een LV valies natuurlijk! Ja, inderdaad, the one and only. Als je ooit een winkel bezocht hebt, heb je er sowieso eentje gezien (Ik zag ze in Antwerpen). Het is groot, het is mooi en het is Vuitton. Er is nu een boek uit over de 100 meest legendarische valiezen en ik heb een kleine video voor jullie!

Sung Yeon ju - Wearable foods

Trendland keeps on sending me the most inspiring things every day, thanks! When I came across these masterpieces, I had to share them with you! Sung Yeon ju will be participating in an upcoming Korean Contemporary art group exhibition in L.A. and Trendland says these are not wearable garments nor fashion photography. But hey, I enjoy watching it!  They pieces even caught H&M's attention. They chose the Tomato dress for one of their print campaigns. Anyways, here are a few of my favorites:

Trendland blijft me elke dag de meest inspirerende dingen sturen, thanks! Toen ik deze meesterwerken zag, moest ik ze met jullie delen! Sung Yeon ju zal binnenkort deelnemen aan een Koreaanse tentoonstelling voor hedendaagse kunst in L.A. en Trendland zegt dat onderstaande werken geen draagbare kledingstukken zijn, noch is het modefotografie.
